Baker & Owner Matthew Scapicchio started baking in 1980 at age 16. After learning the Italian Bread making trade, he moved on to learning Italian pastries. He was taught by an old-time North End baker, who actually made his parent’s wedding cake. After working ten years at La Contessa Pastry shop in Somerville, meanwhile working part-time at La Cascia’s Bakery in Medford he left the trade. After 25 years away from baking, Matthew returned to open his own shop in South Yarmouth Massachusetts, where he fulfilled a life-long dream! With the support of his wife Debbie and daughter Angela, working the counter along with his son Domenic, the customer greeter & doorman, they’re all providing a real family-style bakery to the Cape Cod community.
